Andrew Ti fights racism by day, keeps Twitter interesting by night, and goes way back with our very own Jane Marie. We think you should get to know him. That's why we asked the Yo, Is This Racist? host to tell us five things about his life in podcasting.
How I got into podcasting
It was actually after having a small part in a This American Life piece produced by Jane Marie that I learned that I was OK on a microphone (and that you could repair anything with editing). That's when I decided I should perhaps try some kind of radio-style thing.
True fans will know that, long before Yo, Is This Racist?, I had a very, very small podcast called A Round Of Applause With Travis and Andrew, which had at least two listeners who I don’t know personally.
My Plan B if podcasting doesn't work out
It's very nice of you to imply that podcasting is working out. Very nice. Kind.
The best guest I've hosted, so far
WOW IN MANY WAYS THEY ARE ALL MY FAVORITES. Also, probably Travon Free.
My biggest radio disaster
Besides two or three years of utter unprofessionalism, I think none.
If I had to choose one podcast
My personal favorite podcast is Brand New Podcast, by Brittani Nichols and Ariana Lenarsky, but I also very much enjoy All Fantasy Everything, Smart Mouth and SPONTANEANATION, particularly the episodes I have appeared on.
